Nika Ezell

Maternal mental health and embodiment
My name is Nika and I’m a maternal mental health and embodiment practitioner.
I work with matrescence in all its wild glory. Whether you are yearning to become a mother or well into the throws of the mush, this journey comes along with a profound identify shift. This shift can feel like a death. It can also feel like a magnificent rebirth. Often both! These changes in your body and brain almost inevitably bring a span of emotions ranging from grief to exhilaration. I believe motherhood can provide an opportunity for us to step into a more powerful and supple version of ourselves. This space is an invitation to practice feeling, being, unlearning and reorienting with the goal of helping you embody the fullness of who you are becoming.
My sessions are inspired by my diverse trainings and lived experience. I draw from somatic embodiment and regulation, cognitive behavioral therapy, full spectrum doula work, sports, acting, mindfulness, and perhaps most importantly my own ever-unfolding journey of mothering.
Matrescence is the process of becoming a mother*, it’s a time of transformation, evolution, and metamorphosis.
*A note on the word mother*
To me, mothering is more about a feeling than it is related to gender. I consider it a verb. Mother energy is BIG and WIDE and has room enough for us all.
